The CWK Common Table Silent Auction Branding
For a hypothetical silent auction for Commonwealth Kitchen (CWK), I designed a brand that reflects their mission to support inclusive food entrepreneurship in Boston for small business owners, farmers, caterers, bakers, and food truck operators. The goal was to create a warm, authentic, and bold identity that emphasizes community, connection, and collaboration among food innovators.

Logo Design and Branding
For the event’s logo, my goal was to capture the warmth, heart, and authenticity of Commonwealth Kitchen. I kept the design humble and approachable, using hand-drawn typography to reflect the genuine, human connections at the heart of the CWK community. The red and light beige color palette, inspired by pasta, evokes the shared love of food while reinforcing a sense of community, care, and togetherness.

I wanted to capture both the craft of design and the playful spirit of Canva’s brand. Inspired by the handwritten quality of Canva’s script logo and the playful elements of its website, I used playful motions, like scribbles and drag gestures, to reflect the ideas of revealing, creativity, and the unexpected, celebrating discovery in a fun, engaging way.

Event Posters
The Commonwealth Kitchen community involves diverse groups of food entrepreneurs, including bakers, food truck owners, restaurateurs, farmers, and more. For my posters, I wanted to highlight the diversity of this vibrant community while visually tying it together through the motif of strings, symbolizing connection and collaboration. I also used organic shapes to reflect the warm, approachable, and friendly personality of Commonwealth Kitchen. The background wavy grid patterns, inspired by picnic tablecloths, evoke a sense of shared meals, gathering, and togetherness, reinforcing the idea of community at the heart of CWK.

Applications: Food Trucks and Mobile App
In addition to posters, I also designed the branding and graphics for physical and digital applications to bring this silent auction event to life imaginatively. Many community members are food truck owners, which is why I designed the outside of a food truck to showcase the event. They also provide a bold, interactive way to display the brand, as CWK members can hand out food and other items directly to eventgoers. I incorporated the colors, hand-drawn typography, and organic shapes from the logo and posters into the food truck signage, ensuring brand cohesion while reinforcing the warmth, authenticity, and community-centered spirit of Commonwealth Kitchen

I also designed an app interface for the auction, using the same brand colors and elements throughout. Custom icons were created for the “Auction” page, where users can bid on items or experiences, and for the Ticket page, ensuring a seamless and cohesive experience across both physical and digital touchpoints, reflecting CWK’s warm, authentic, and community-centered identity.
