As one of today’s leading design platforms, Canva is defined by a playful yet powerful brand identity that inspires creativity at every level. For Canva Create 2025, their signature event where founders unveil new products, share bold ideas, and invite iconic speakers, I experimented with Canva’s brand elements and the event’s vibrant energy to design a promo animation and motion posters that celebrated the spirit of creativity.

I wanted to capture both the craft of design and the playful spirit of Canva’s brand. Inspired by the handwritten quality of Canva’s script logo and the playful elements of its website, I used playful motions, like scribbles and drag gestures, to reflect the ideas of revealing, creativity, and the unexpected, celebrating discovery in a fun, engaging way.

From the stage sets and keynotes to the photo spots at SoFi Stadium, every part of Canva Create is filled with color, energy, and surprises. For the promo video, I translated this spirit into motion while staying on brand, using Canva’s signature blues and pinks and the typeface Trap, which echoes Canva Sans. Creative. I used fun, unexpected transitions to highlight key information from speakers to event content, ensuring each moment feels distinct and reflects the playful, dynamic experience Canva Create offers participants.
